PC Central
PC Central gives easier manageability, increased network performance and an added level security. By housing your desktops and workstations in the data center you free-up work space, quite the work area, keep sensitive data secure, protect valuable data, consolidates resources and protect your hardware from theft and vandalism. The solution provides the end user with an uncompromised PC experience while the critical data is maintained and managed in the datacenter. The data is encrypted, compressed and transmitted over Ethernet using enterprise class networks (LAN) or wide area networks (WAN).
Highlights:
- High Security and Privacy by locating data in the datacenter
- Completely OS Independent
- All applications run as normal
- Manage complexity and reduce cost by facilitating centralized management
Security and Authentication:
100% of desktop computing can be moved into a secure location including existing PC and workstation form factors. Mutual certificate-based device authentication secure sensitive information and valuable research and development data for government, financial, DCC/CAD/CAM design, healthcare, and entertainment customers. In addition, the end-users have the flexibility of connecting any standard USB device on the desktop. Mass storage lock-out is an option for an added level of security configured through a management portal with a web browser.
Higher Density
M&A developed a special rugged enclosure (PC CAN) to allow for high density deployments using the PCoIP technology. This revolutionary design allows for 4 users per 2U rack space which provides 80 users per standard 48U rack. The PC CAN is attached to the network via standard 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports. The CANs can be easily removed and serviced as a standard PC.
Cost of Ownership:
The total cost of ownership for a PC Central 1:1 hardware solution is reduced due to the following factors:
- Ease of manageability
- Ease of deployment, service and support
- No additional licensing fees
- Security of sensitive data and valuable hardware
- Superior and seamless end-user experience
Connectivity:
The enduser is connected to their designated PC CAN in two ways:
- via a special PCoIP LCD monitor where the mouse, keyboard, and speakers are connected directly to the PCoIP monitor.
- using a PC Portal that provides external ports for 2 standard monitors, USB devices and audio devices.
